The Skinny on Fasting

On Tuesday we talked about fasting. The goal of fasting is to say no to something in order to say yes to something in a more intense way. We don’t just go without food, but we pursue our pleasure, passion, and joy in Jesus Christ. I’m so proud of numerous young adults who are fasting something this week. Keep going, my friends. God is at work!

When I fast, I’m realigning my heart with the first commandment – to make sure I’m loving God above all else. And also to wean myself off of distractions to that goal.
